SOLAR ELECTRICITY
can reduce or eliminate dependence on fossil fuel energy through the use of photovoltaics (PV) to produce all or a portion of your electricity needs. PV can also provide power wwith the energy grid down. PV is becoming a more attractive investment as the costs of fossil fuels continue to rise and the price of photovoltaics goes down.
RAINWATER COLLECTION AND STORAGE
reduce treated water needs by capturing and storing rainwater for emergency use or flushing toilets, watering lawns and gardens, washing vehicles, and other tasks not requiring potable water.
SOLAR HOT WATER
(SWH) can produce a large percentage of your annual domestic hot water needs. Additionally, excess hot water produced in the summer can be used to heat swimming pools, greenhouses, etc. SHW systems usually provides the quickest payback of any renewable energy system making it a good investment.
COMPOSTING TOILETS
to reduce potable water used to flush toilets, reduce soil and ground water pollution, and save money by composting waste which could eliminate the need for large, expensive sewage systems and leach fields
